Build your own LCD Clock

The Akafugu Simpleclock is a DIY-friendly LCD display clock that can show the time and temperature. Designed with through-hole components and a pre-cut acrylic stand, this allows anyone with a bit of soldering experience to create their own timepiece.
The brains of the operation is an Arduino-compatible ATMega microcontroller board that reads input from an RTC chip, temperature sensor, and controls. The time and temp is displayed using Akafugu's popular TWIDisplay LCD driver component. You'll not only practice assembling a kit, but also learn how to work with the Arduino IDE and code.

Price for the class includes Y3200 for the Akafugu kit.(http://www.akafugu.jp/posts/products/simpleclock/)
