You are herePast Events
Below this line are past events. This is a hack against the old Drupal version we run here.
Problem: The site's front page should give attention to current events
Context: The front page only shows one list, from oldest to newest. This means newly-created links to events far in the future will fall off the front page and not be shown when the event draws near.
Forces: Events are ordered by "Authored Date", which is by default the creation date of the posting
Solution: Make a distinction between old(have occured) and new(haven't occured) events. Order the new events as further in the future. BUT new events should be added in reverse order so closer events end up at the top of the page.
I do this by changing the Authored Date of future events a year into the future (so all in 2014), and then putting them in reverse order. It's too complicated but doesn't take that long to do. Looking forward to a site revamp!
Reference: This link shows the Authored Date for all posts on the front page.
