Here are some of the issues I see that need to be addressed:
1) Front page management - who decides what gets promoted to front page content
2) User management - different user levels? admin authorization required? permissions
3) Menus - How shall we organize the content into categories and fit them into the menu hierarchy
4) Additional modules - I think we will end up needing a photo gallery, file manager, anything else?
5) Appointed admins - Who will be appointed admins?
6) Possibly better to use better forum software - I can see that Drupal forum is pretty limited in terms of features and stores everything as drupal pages. Search is a bit limited as well, and I can't see any email notification on new posts. Possibly better to use phpBB3 or Simple Machines?

I say we keep one main admin, that a small number of us can share, but that we give users access permissions based on the Authenticated User level that is currently set up. Basically they can do anything except delete other peoples stuff...

ps. Forums suck.

Gee I wonder who posted that last one...

We can always use the alternative...discuss web admin issues through public tweets...as long as each post doesn't go longer than 140 characters...ha ha ha...

Promoting Events to the front page:

It appears to be doing this top down based on last promotion first.
It should be doing it top down soonest upcoming event first.

That way, the first event item on the list is the next event.
Any way to re-arrange the three events currently promoted to the front page?
