This kit is a THS[1] project in collaboration with SafeCast[2]. Once you buy and build your device, you own it (hardware and software) and the data it produces. You can opt-in to have your data logged to the THS account on Pachube[3] (for free) and have it available to the public (for free).

I am planing to organize a DIY GM counter workshop. Details are still not fixed, stay tuned.

The kit consist of 3 parts: motherboard (Freakduino), daugtherboard (NetRAD shield) and radiation sensor (SBM-20 GM tube). If you have any of these, you can use yours, but we'll have to make sure they are similar enough.

Its the first ever THS (possibly world wide?)

HACK-A-LONG!

A Hack-a-long is like a sing-along, or a more accurately, like a DO IT barcamp.

The idea is this:
Throughout the evening, several presentations will offer you the chance to do something you may have never done before. Each presentation will be between 5 and 20 minutes. You will get the chance to:

* look inside something you have never looked into

* take something apart

* put something together

* learn something strange and wonderful

Make, Cure, and Smoke your own Bacon right here in Tokyo! This is a two part class.
Come learn the basics of curing and smoking meat, esp. making your own bacon. Two part class will include how to make your own Cure, how to cure and prepare your pork and finally how to smoke and transform pork into bacon for home deliciousness.
